McCurdy pitches in

One nice thing these days is that there's no shortage of ways to help out the American Red Cross, the New York City's Fire-fighters' Fund, and many other worthy causes providing invalu-able help to those who need it.

Now, Pat McCurdy, known for his hilarious songs and regular Tuesday night gigs at the Annex, is getting into the act in a big way.

Go to www.patmccurdy.com, and you can order a special limited edition CD that McCurdy is issuing. At least $8 of the $10 price of the album will go directly to the American Red Cross, which is a huge percentage by benefit album standards.

The CD features more than 50 minutes of new music, all re-corded live within the past year. So far, $600 has been raised for the Red Cross, and fans are certainly allowed to give more than $10 is they wish.

But, hurry: The CD will only be on sale until Oct. 17.
