Fading

You look sad even when you smile
Is life so bad, is there nothing that's worthwhile
Look around you, there are lots of things so beautiful to see
So why are you fading on me, why are you fading on me?

You once shone like the brightest star
You were well known in all the factories and bars
Only lately, you look less like you and more like a memory
Oh why are you fading on me, oh why are you fading on me?

I depend on you for me
To have a life vicariously

Things look black everywhere 'round here
I want you back but you've almost disappeared
I want the old you, have I told you I would wait eternally?
So why are you fading on me, why are you fading on me?

I need to know, why are you fading on me?
Where did you go
Look around you, there are lots of things so beautiful to see
So why are you fading on me?
