Great Day

Oh the sun beat down on our hatless heads
And it bounced off the sidewalk
We made small talk
And checked each other out

You told me jokes and you made me laugh
You forgot all the punchlines
But there in the sunshine
They were funnier without

It was a great day, a perfect day
A perfect way to spend a day

We walked through the grass in our shoeless feet
And we wished it was the ocean
Suntan lotion
And umbrellas in the sand

Oh my, time does fly
And it was flying
Still, you kept trying
To catch it in your hand

It was a great day, a perfect day
A perfect way to spend a day

It was a great day
A perfect day
