I Heard Tomorrow Calling

I used to laugh at danger
I used to smoke in bed
I used to sleep with strangers
I used to lose my head
I was fearless
I was feckless
I was reckless as can be
And then I heard tomorrow calling out to me
It was calling out to me

I used to come unglued sometimes
I used to come unstuck
I used to come too soon sometimes
But not for lack of pluck
And when things look very hopeless
Just as hopeless as can be
That's when I heard tomorrow calling out to me
It was calling out to me

Well, I heard tomorrow calling
It sounded pretty bad
Made me want to give up
All the good times that I had
But I can't do that
I'll put on a new face
I'll put on a new hat

So, if you ant to judge me
Judge me if you must
I want to know who told told you
Life is fair and just
Go on doing what you're doing
You've been doing it for years
You heard tomorrow calling
You cover up your ears
You just cover up your ears

I thought I heard tomorrow calling
I heard tomorrow calling
Yes, I heard tomorrow calling
