Showbiz Is My Life

I put on this show to make myself a buck
Thank you for not telling me how much you think I suck
And thank you for not throwing things, though I've got time to duck
Showbiz is my life, yes it is, showbiz is my life

My father was a crooner, how that man could sing
My mother rode the elephants into the center ring
My sister danced for sailors, among other things
So you see, showbiz is my life, yes it is, showbiz is my life

And your laughter is my drug, your applause my religion
The spotlight is my sun, the stage my Eden
My lines are my prayers, I recite them every night
Two matinees and I'll be all right

So tonight for your amusement and your edification
I'll perform my tricks and maybe one ejaculation
And when I'm done I hope I'll get a standing ovation
Because showbiz is my life, yes it is
Showbiz is my life, yes it is
Showbiz is my, showbiz is my, showbiz is my
Showbiz is my life
