Til You Hear From Me

Well you admit our timing is less then impeccable
We never come to the same place at the same time
We're two ships that sink in different oceans
It's a wonder we still think with one mind

Sometimes there's so many things I'd like to tell you
That my hate feels like a helium balloon
When my words leave my mouth they turn to nothing
We end up in different corners of the room

Well don't leave home, 'til you hear from me
Don't burn my poems, 'til you hear from me
Don't disconnect your phone, 'til you hear from me
'Til you hear from me, don't do anything

I guess that's it, I guess we'll never be together
It's a shame we've come so close, only to fail
Like old cowboys riding off into different sunsets
I hope we meet somewhere further down the trail
Don't do anything rash, 'til you hear from me
Don't spend any cash, 'til you hear from me
And don't get smashed, 'til you hear from me
'Til you hear from me, don't do anything

Oh oh oh, oh oh oh, oh oh oh oh oh

Well don't quit school, 'til you hear from me
And keep your cool, 'til you hear from me
Don't be anybody's fool, 'til you hear from me
'Til you hear from me, don't do anything

And now don't you cry, 'til you hear from me
Keep your powder dry, 'til you hear from me
Ands don't get high, 'til you hear from me
'Til you hear from me, don't do anything

I said use your common sense, 'til you hear from me
Don't jump that fence, 'til you hear from me
Don't have accidents, 'til you hear from me
'Til you hear from me, don't do anything

Oh oh oh, oh oh oh, oh oh oh oh oh, mmm mmm mmm
