Dinosaur

Behold a dinosaur
Who really shouldn't exist any more
Behold a dying breed
Who still believes that love is all you need
And I believe that it would be just fine
If I could leave this ugly world behind
I'm not going any where tonight
So I hope for the best, maybe things will be all right

Once more that dinosaur
We've all heard his song and dance before
An ancient empty shell
We used to the love the stories he would tell
A fool who doesn't fit into his times
Of instant fame and pretty pantomime
And any day the end could be in sight
So I hope for the best, maybe things will be all right

Maybe they won't
And you'll want to cry, but don't
It won't do you any good
Even though you think it would
It won't do you any good

"Come rescue me!" you cry
Suddenly you feel like life has passed you by
And all that I can say
Is modern life is kind of crappy anyway
Don't send me your sadface emoticons
I'd love to be the one that you depend upon
I'd love to be the one you hold all through the night
So I hope for the best, maybe things will be all right
